Mexican-American Latin GRAMMY-nominated artist, producer & musician, DannyLux, releases his new single “Ya No Estás,” via Warner Music Latina and VPS Music. The song is produced by Danny, incorporating his emblematic sound of sad sierreño with heartfelt vocals, and inspired by the jazz classic, “Misty” by Erroll Garner. With lyrics full of melancholy, “Ya No Estás” portrays that moment of internal struggle between sadness and the need to move forward after the departure of someone special.
“This song is for anyone who’s had their heart broken. It’s such a sad part of the human experience, but so many of us go through it, and it feels nice to know you’re not alone. When we started dropping pieces of this on socials, we had a lot of positive feedback and that’s when I knew I had to drop it as soon as possible, so I am excited to share it as we step into my new project,” shared DannyLux.
The heartache within the song is expressed in the music video, which was directed by Elias López in Mexico City. The black-and-white visuals encompass the vulnerability behind the lyrics, as close-ups of Danny show him emotionally exposed. “We wanted to keep it super simple and let the song speak for itself while also hinting at the vibe of my upcoming visuals,” added Danny.
DannyLux started the year on a generous note, sharing the stage with Eslabon Armado and Cuco for Viva Music Festival’s “I Heart L.A.” benefit concert. All ticket proceeds went to MusiCares which will aid musicians affected by the fires that devastated Los Angeles this year. In 2024, Danny received his first Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album for his project, EVOLUXION, and toured the US and Mexico. Plus, he was featured on the Grammy’s Press Play series, the SoundCloud docu-series, SCENES: Música Mexicana presented by Toyota, and the Spotify campaign “La Tierra de Música Mexicana.” Danny also became the first artist to team up with altruistic impact-driven creator, Jesús Morales to participate in the creator’s celebrated street vendor buyout campaigns.
