México City, MX (February 19, 2021) — Camilo Lara the brainchild behind Mexican Institute of Sound brings nostalgia from the past in his latest remix for the single «El Antidoto» from his new album, Distrito Federal. The song is a daring and melancholic playful remix with the legendary, Lee «Scratch» Perry.

Lee «Scratch» Perry uses La Perla’s voice as a musical instrument and captures the reggae essence, turning the track into a haunting remix that delves into your ears and directly takes you to the dance floor.

Camilo Lara appears in the visual for «El Antidoto» remix dressed in a traditional ceremonial garment showing his Mexicanidad ‘a la’ Spencer Tunick with scenes that don’t explain the nudity of those who are present.

The years of experience has led the pathway for the 84 year-old innovator, Lee «Scratch» Perry who in 2002 won a Grammy for «Best Reggae Artist» and is considered by Rolling Stone one of the best musicians, without counting the work he did with Bob Marley & The Wailers. His daring and surprising mix of cumbia with an almost ancestral voice, a bombastic rhythm that leaves the thundering horns in its wake, even after the track is remixed, it continues to standout as if saying, “Listen to that cumbión”.

The remix for «El Antidoto» is available today on all digital platforms. You can hear the original version on Mexican Institute of Sound’s new album, Distrito Federal.
