“Coquimbo, Mazatlán”

A geographical leap from Chile to Mexico or vice versa, is the one proposed by Chilean singer-songwriter Gepe and Mexican El David Aguilar, who present “Coquimbo, Mazatlán” in a collaboration full of feelings and melancholic warmth.
On the cusp of his return to Mexico for his concert at the Auditorio BlackBerry in Mexico City (October 15) and his participation in the Coordenada festival in Guadalajara, the prolific Chilean artist returns with a song that nods to traditional Mexican music, showing once again the versatility to which, he has accustomed us throughout his eight albums released. And this time he is accompanied by multiple Latin Grammy nominee, El David Aguilar, who has taken his country’s popular music to different corners of the world.
With this release, and supported in the audiovisual by the careful work of Chilean director Bernardo Quesney, Gepe resumes his 2022 releases, expanding the imaginary that he had already revealed in his previous single, “Las 4:40”. Also starring Salvador Insunza, the clip for this new single makes nods to the spaghetti western and road movie aesthetics, combining a narrative that is also reflected in the music.
The song was recorded in Mexico City during March 2022 and produced by Chilean Pablo Stipicic.
