MIAMI (19 de septiembre, 2019) – Cerca de un año después de su debut en la escena de la música latina como una artista profesional, la prometedora cantante y compositora mexicoamericana Lupita Infante revela su álbum debut “La Serenata“. Este disco estará disponible desde el 27 de septiembre en formato digital, un complemento perfecto para introducirse en el Mes de la Herencia Hispana.

La Serenata es un proyecto diverso, en cuyos nueve sencillos incluye dos temas previamente lanzados – “Yo Por Ti” y “Ya Ni Me Acuerdo”, ambos fueron originalmente grabados por su padre, Pedro Infante, Jr. (1950-2009); y el resto grabaciones completamente originales, contándose con cuatro coautorías de Lupita.

La Serenata incluye tres covers inéditos: “Yo He Nacido Mexicano”fue inicialmente grabada por su abuelo, leyenda de la música y el cine de oro, el ídolo mexicano Pedro Infante (1917-1957). En 2018, Lupita entregó una maravillosa presentación de esta canción en San Antonio, Texas; en la celebración del Día de la Independencia de México que fue transmitida en todo Estados Unidos por Univisión.

Otro de los covers es el clásico bolero-ranchero“Sabor a Mí,” popularizada por el Trío Los Panchos en 1964, y una versión bilingüe de esta canción titulada “Be True To Me”, que fue grabada por la cantante de jazz Doris Day. Lupita hace a este clásico suyo con un hermoso arreglo de violín y sensuales armonías vocales

En su material original, Lupita desenvuelve su rango emocional y romanticismo imperecedero. Combinando norteño con bolero-ranchero, “Dejaré” tiernamente le da a su pretendiente luz verde para hacer sus sueños realidad.

El tema que da título al álbum es una serenata “a la antigua” que da honor a su nombre, mientras juega con estereotipos: “¿quién dijo que las mujeres no llevan serenata?”.

“Por Tu Amor”funde dulzura y sensualidad en un bolero ranchero hecho para la luna llena.

Dando rienda suelta a su corazón destrozado, “Tú Con Ella y Yo Con Él” es un canto lastimoso para el que se fue.

En conjunto, estas cuatro composiciones nos muestran una artista emergente con el don de contar historias memorables en hermosos arreglos de mariachi.

Acerca De Lupita Infante

Siendo la nieta de Pedro Infante Cruz (1917-1957), el ícono de la Época de Oro del Cine Mexicano, e hija de Pedro Infante Torrentera (1950-2009), un cantante y actor con trayectoria propia, Lupita Infante encuentra su inspiración en el legado que le dejaron como artistas e intérpretes. Oriunda de Downey, California, Lupitaune su sólida formación académica con la intuición y el talento que lleva en la sangre para deleitar a sus seguidores. En junio 2017, obtuvo su título en Etnomusicología de la Universidad de California, Los Ángeles, donde participó en su Mariachi de Uclatlán, el primer mariachi universitario que fue fundado en 1961. Además, fue concursante en La Voz, formando parte del equipo de Carlos Vives. Fue telonera a Shaila Dúrcal y Beatriz Adriana,y en el 2018 actuó como invitada especial del Famoso festival de Mariachi USA celebrado en el Hollywood Bowl. Se trata de la creencia en un futuro prometedor sin importar desde donde se empieza y el aprecio por el camino que se desenvuelve. MIAMI (September 19, 2019) – Nearly a year after debuting on the Latin music scene as a recording artist, the rising Mexican-American singer and songwriter Lupita Infante unveils her debut “La Serenata”. This album will be available September 27 in digital format, a perfect complement to Hispanic Heritage Month.

La Serenata is a varied album, whose nine tracks include two previously released singles – “Yo Por Ti” (Me For You) and “Ya Ni Me Acuerdo” (I No Longer Remember), both of which were originally recorded by her father, Pedro Infante,Jr. (1950-2009); and seven brand-new recordings, four of which feature Lupita herself as a co-writer.

Of the three previously unreleased cover versions on La Serenata, “Yo He Nacido Mexicano” (I Was Born Mexican) was originally recorded by her grandfather, Mexico’s legendary music and movie idol Pedro Infante (1917-1957). In 2018, Lupita gave a stunning performance of this song in San Antonio, Texas, for Mexican Independence Day celebrations that were broadcast across the United States on Univisión.

The other two covers re the classic-bolero-ranchero Sabor a Mi,” originally popularized by Trío Los Panchos in 1964, and a bilingual version of this song titled “Be True To Me,” which was originally recorded by Doris Day. Lupita makes this classic her own with a beautiful violin solo and expressive vocals.

On her original material, Lupita shows off her emotional range and timeless romanticism. Combining norteño with bolero-ranchero, “Dejaré” (I Will Allow) tenderly gives a suitor the green light to make his dreams come true.

The title track is an old-fashioned serenade that lives up to its name, while playing with stereotypes: “Who says that women can’t sing a serenade?”

“Por Tu Amor” (For Your Love) combines sweetness with sensuality in a bolero-ranchero made for a moonlit night.

Giving free rein to her heartbreak, “Tú Con Ella y Yo Con Él” (You With Her and Me With Him) is an unabashed lament to the one who got away. All in all, these four originals show us an emerging artist with a knack for telling memorable stories over gorgeous mariachi arrangements.

The granddaughter of Pedro Infante (1917-1957), an icon in the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema, and daughter of Pedro Infante, Jr. (1950-2009), a singer and actor in his own right, Lupita Infante finds inspiration in the legacy they left behind as entertainers and performers. Hailing from Downey, California, Lupita delights her fans by combining a solid academic background with the intuition and talent that are her birthright. In June 2017, she received her Bachelor’s in Ethnomusicology from UCLA, where she participated in Mariachi de Uclatlán. Founded in 1961, it was the world’s first university-level mariachi ensemble. In addition, she has appeared on The Voice Mexico, where she competed on Carlos Vives’ team. She has opened for ranchera greats Shaila Dúrcal and Beatriz Adriana, and in 2018 she performed in the famed Mariachi USA festival at the Hollywood Bowl.
